What PromptLift does
PromptLift improves, saves, and lets you reuse prompts on supported AI websites. PromptLift processes prompt text only after you choose an action such as Improve or Save.
Information collected
- The original prompt and improved prompt.
- The selected tone and supported AI service name.
- The website origin, such as
https://chatgpt.com. Full page URLs, query strings, and page titles are not stored. - A randomly generated anonymous installation ID used to keep each installation's prompt history separate.
- Technical request data automatically processed by hosting infrastructure, such as IP address, browser information, timestamp, endpoint, and response status.
Redaction and use
Before prompt records are stored, PromptLift replaces common identifiers including email addresses, URLs, phone numbers, payment-card-like numbers, API keys, authentication tokens, IP addresses, and street-address-like strings. Automated redaction may not identify every name or sensitive detail, so do not submit secrets or highly sensitive personal information.
Stored prompt records provide recent prompt history and help us understand and improve PromptLift. PromptLift does not sell prompt data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
Storage and sharing
PromptLift uses Vercel for application hosting and MongoDB Atlas for database storage. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored using managed encrypted infrastructure. Prompt content is not sent to third-party AI model providers by PromptLift.
Retention and deletion
Prompt records remain available to the anonymous installation that created them until they are deleted from PromptLift or removed following a verified deletion request. Uninstalling the extension removes the local installation ID but does not automatically delete server records because the service can no longer identify that installation.
Permissions
PromptLift uses browser storage for settings and the anonymous installation ID, active-tab and scripting access to insert improved prompts after user action, context-menu access to improve selected text, and limited host access on supported AI websites and the PromptLift service.
Your choices
You can choose not to submit a prompt, delete individual saved prompts from the extension, disable the floating button, or uninstall PromptLift. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information.
